Import your data

Open the account menu (your initials, top right) and choose Import data. The import page lists the records most businesses bring in first, in the usual order: contacts, companies, products, invoices, deals and employees.

How an import works

  1. Upload a .xlsx, .xlsm or .csv file.
  2. Pick the sheet. Loopency shows which row it read as the header. A pivot table is marked as one it cannot import.
  3. Map the columns to Loopency fields. Each suggestion says where it came from: a matching name, the AI, or you. Required fields must be mapped. When a date or number format is ambiguous, you are asked rather than guessed.
  4. Preview. A dry run shows how many records will be added, updated or left unchanged, and which are held back because the record in Loopency is newer than the file. Nothing is written yet.
  5. Import, then see what actually happened.

The AI only suggests. Its cleaning suggestions are accepted one at a time, and imported records go through the same permission checks as records you type in.
