Automations

An automation is a rule of the form when this happens, do that: an invoice is issued, a document is about to expire, a project is completed.

Loopency ships these rules and they are on from the first day. You do not install anything.

Seeing what runs

Search for Automations with Cmd+K. Managers and admins also have it in the right strip (the lightning icon). The page lists every automation by module, saying in plain words what sets it off and what it does.

Turning one off

Each automation has a switch. Turning one off changes it for your workspace only and can be undone at any time. A shipped automation can be switched off, but not edited or deleted.

Automations follow the same rules as people

Each step an automation takes is an action a person could take from the screen, so it passes the same checks: your permissions, approval rules, and the record's history. An automation cannot do something a person in that role could not do.
