Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and provide information to website owners.

Loopency, a product of Jowgik, uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your experience, analyze usage, and provide personalized content.

2. Types of Cookies We Use

2.1 Essential Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the Service to function properly. They enable core functionality such as authentication, security, and session management.

  • Authentication cookies: Keep you logged in to your account
  • Security cookies: Detect authentication abuse and protect your account
  • Session cookies: Remember your preferences during your browsing session

These cookies cannot be disabled as they are essential for the Service to work.

2.2 Performance Cookies

These help us understand which pages are used. They load only if you allow analytics (see section 5.1), and they record pageviews, not the content of pages.

  • Google Analytics: Counts page views, using cookies
  • PostHog: Counts page views, using your browser's local storage rather than a cookie

2.3 Functional Cookies

These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalization, such as remembering your preferences and settings.

  • Preference cookies: Remember your language, timezone, and display settings
  • UI state cookies: Remember sidebar state, view preferences, and layout choices
  • Feature flags: Enable or disable specific features for your account

2.4 Marketing Cookies

We do not currently use marketing or advertising cookies. If we start, they will load only if you allow marketing cookies in your cookie preferences, and this policy will list them first.

3. Third-Party Cookies

We use services from trusted third parties that may also set cookies on your device when you use our Service:

3.1 Analytics Services

  • Google Analytics (only if you allow analytics)
  • PostHog (only if you allow analytics)
  • Cloudflare Web Analytics (sets no cookies)

3.2 Infrastructure and Services

  • Cloudflare: Protects the Service from attacks and abusive bots, and may set strictly necessary security cookies (such as __cf_bm) to tell people from automated traffic. They are not used to track you and do not need your consent.
  • Polar: Merchant of record and payment processing

These third parties have their own privacy policies and cookie policies. We recommend reviewing their policies to understand how they use cookies.

4. How Long Cookies Last

4.1 Session Cookies

Session cookies are temporary and are deleted when you close your browser. They help maintain your session while navigating the Service.

4.2 Persistent Cookies

Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them. They help us remember your preferences across sessions.

  • Authentication cookies: Up to 30 days
  • Preference cookies: Up to 1 year
  • Analytics cookies: Up to 2 years

5. Managing Cookies

5.1 Your Analytics Choice

Essential cookies need no consent. Analytics cookies load only if you allow them, and we ask where you first arrive, never in the middle of your work:

  • On our website: a cookie banner asks before any analytics loads.
  • When you create an account: an optional checkbox beside the required consents, unticked unless you tick it.
  • Inside Loopency: no banner. Change your answer at any time in Settings, Appearance, under Cookies and analytics.

Your answer is saved in one cookie that our website and the Loopency app share, so answering in one place applies to both. If you never answer, for example because you joined by invitation, analytics stays off.

5.2 Browser Settings

Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can:

  • View cookies stored on your device
  • Delete cookies individually or all at once
  • Block cookies from specific websites
  • Block all third-party cookies
  • Clear cookies when you close your browser

5.3 Browser-Specific Instructions

  • Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences, then Privacy, then Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings, then Cookies and site permissions, then Manage and delete cookies

5.4 Impact of Blocking Cookies

If you disable or block cookies, some features of the Service may not function properly:

  • You may be unable to log in or stay logged in
  • Your preferences and settings may not be saved
  • Some features may not work as expected
  • The Service may not remember your choices

6. Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that signals to websites that you do not want to be tracked. We currently do not respond to DNT signals, as there is no industry standard for how to interpret them.

7. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons.

When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
